Ihsaanly is free, for your own practice. It is a companion, not a scholar: for anything that matters, ask someone qualified.
We work hard to get it right, but we cannot promise it is free of mistakes.
Who we are
Ihsaanly (“the app”) is published by Mohd Inc. (“we”, “us”). These terms apply to the app and to this website. By using either, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Using the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own practice. The app is free and needs no account.
Please do not copy, modify, sell or redistribute the app, or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows you to.
Religious content
The app presents recommended acts with their sources: the verse, or the hadith collection with its reference and grading. It is a guide to practice, not a religious ruling, and it does not replace a qualified scholar. Where scholars differ, the app says so; it does not decide for you.
The content is awaiting review by a named scholar, and the app says so on its About screen. Translations other than English are drafts awaiting review by qualified speakers. If you find a mistake, please tell us.
Prayer windows and dates
The parts of the day, the Hijri date and the fasting days are calculated from your location and the method you choose. Calculation and local moon sighting often differ, which is why fasting days are marked “expected”. Where your mosque or community says otherwise, follow them.
Your data
Everything the app records stays on your device. We do not hold a copy, so we cannot restore it if your phone is lost or the app is deleted. Use More → Your data → Export my data if you want a backup. The privacy policy explains exactly what is stored and what can leave your device.
Donations
Any donation is voluntary, unlocks nothing and changes nothing about the app. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, including their refund policies.
App stores
If you downloaded the app from the App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply. These terms are between you and Mohd Inc. only. Apple and Google are not parties to them and are not responsible for the app, its content or its support.
No warranty
The app and this website are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that they will always be available or free of errors.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Mohd Inc. is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app or this website, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province in which Mohd Inc. is incorporated.
